How could we have called wraps to our index of What To Do in Jaisalmer without mentioning this must-visit spine-chilling of a village, Kuldhara?

Kuldhara is an abandoned Rajasthani village on the outskirts of Jaisalmer with its origin dating back to the 13th Century. Kuldhara was once a prosperous town inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins. Owing to a series of unfortunate events, all 85 villagers abandoned the region overnight, and ever since, there have been no signs of human dwelling. Before they left, though, they put a curse on the town; one will never be able to settle in the village thereafter.

If this isn’t enough to give goosebumps, we don’t know what is!

Claiming its place as one of the most haunted places in India, upon entering Kuldhara a faint whisper of melancholy is sure to ring in your ears.

An integral part of India’s collective treasure of folklores, this enchanting village is an intriguing attraction for those fond of unraveling remnants of ancient forts and villages. Be ready to be welcomed by an eerie air that envelopes the hermit’s ruins.
And just when you thought we were at the end, we saved the best for the last! Take a wild guess as to what that could be…. Yes, a special mention of the fun-filled festivals and celebrations that form an intrinsic part of Jaisalmer’s social fabric.
