You can roll the wheels of Buddhism and chant the holy mantra for the goodwill. Spread positivity and get to interact with the monks residing in the monastery. Curious much?

HEMIS MONASTERY

You’ll be stepping into one of the world’s wealthiest monastery. Hemis Monastery will steal your breath away with its magnificence and richness. The gold and silver stupas stand out amongst everything. Well, if we talk about the massive copper statue of Lord Buddha that stands proudly it would be an understatement to say that it is surreal. Get back in the old age through the murals and paintings that hand oh-so-beautifully on the walls of Hemis Monastery.
Need a catch? You can even sight some snow leopards in the Hemis National park enclosing the monastery. This is getting better, isn’t it?

DISKIT VILLAGE

Hop around oh – so – happily on the streets of Diskit Village. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to check out the 350 years old stunning Diskit Monastery. On your holiday in Ladakh Diskit is one such place that’ll leave you wanting for more. Don’t believe us? Well, you’re going to in no time. The monastery houses 100 monks and you’ll leave smiling from ear to ear after interacting with them and getting to know about rich and profound Buddhist culture and traditions. A double hump camel ride in the cold desert will undoubtedly steal the show. Who doesn’t mind getting something etched into their memories for a lifetime! This village will be your calling on a journey to discover yourself.

HUNDER VILLAGE

Your Holiday in Ladakh is going to be a sure shot success once you’ve crossed Khardungla Pass – world’s highest motor-able pass – and reached Hunder Village. Known for its barren lands, cold desert and quintessential aura this village is one of the most popular destinations to know about the cultural and traditional roots of Leh Ladakh. Shinning like a mirage in the desert of bland atmosphere this village has a lot to offer to you amidst the spectacular backdrop of mighty Himalayas. Take a bacterian camel joyride and mark our words – it’s going to be one of the most unforgettable experiences on your holiday in Ladakh. The sand dunes hugging you in the cold of the hills will give you a feeling beyond definition. Also, make sure to hit Hunder Gompa or Hunder Monastery, so to speak. Get mesmerized by the sheer beauty and surrealism of an edifice tucked safely in the cradle of hills. Eat, meditate and love, folks!

After having visited this little munchkin of villages you’ll be proceeding to witness the awesomeness of the local lives. Interact with shepherds, little monks playing around and get to know about their culture from the roots. Be a part of it all. And guess what? Maybe someone will offer a lip-smacking Tibetan meal course to you! Keep your fingers crossed, peeps.
As the day comes to an end you’ll be heading back to Leh where it all began.

Take turns rolling the wheels and chanting prayers. Alchi Monastery will captivate you in and out.

LIKIR

After having visited this wonder you’ll be heading to Likir monastery in Likir. Buddhism drips from every nook and cranny of Leh and Likir monastery is just another incredible live example of the same. You’ll get to see some of the old Buddhist manuscripts and a 75 feet tall statue of Lord Buddha within this spectacularly built monastery also known as Klu-Kkhyil Gompa. It doesn’t end there. You’ll be straight up awed at the incredible paintings and murals hung up on the walls. Must see, we insist. The legend has it that this was rebuilt in the 18th century as a fort to protect the local inhabitants from the atrocities of war.
