Ancient Agra Fort Made by Mughals
Arun Geetha Vishwanathan

Forget dusty textbooks. Agra Fort’s history is an adventure novel! Our tale starts with a humble brick fort on the Yamuna River. Enter Babur, the first Mughal Emperor, who saw its potential. He added his touch, but Akbar the Great transformed it. Over a decade, the fort blossomed into a red sandstone gem.

Akbar’s successors, like Shah Jahan, kept adding beauty- jewelled courtyards, opulent palaces, and fragrant gardens. But the fort is not just about aesthetics; whispers of power struggles, love affairs, and even imprisonments echo within its walls.

Each room has a jewel coffer complemented with immaculate pietra dura inlay work- a sparkling array of semi-precious stones.

But don’t you mistake the Agra Fort of India to be all glitz and glam! The verdant gardens, bursting with aromatic blooms, offer undertones of harmony- a welcome respite from the red sandstone embrace!
